Welcome to the website of Staffordshire Moorlands Liberal Democrats
Staffordshire Moorlands is the most northerly and most attractive constituency in the West Midlands. It is formed by the majority of wards of Staffordshire Moorlands District, as well as the Newchapel ward of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough.
The Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity.

Bagnall residents were astounded to find that their recently won 40mph signs in Bagnall Road had been covered with 60mph signs by City Council contractors. County Councillor Christina Jebb supported residents in their 18 month campaign to win the lower limit in March. She said she was baffled by the 'ineptitude' of the contractors and the waste of taxpayers' money: "Why on earth didn't the workmen ask any questions when they were saw they were installing 60mph signs on top of 40mph ones?!"

Roy Gregg reports: Work to create 45 extra dual use public/staff car parking spaces at Leek Moorlands Hospital is well advanced, with completion anticipated by the end of March, weather permitting. Roy welcomed the extra spaces saying "It should be more convenient for visitors to the hospital and local residents alike with no need to park on Kniveden Lane. This was particularly difficult during construction work. People were concerned about access to the hospital by ambulances, because of the road congestion."
